Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty team as we expand care in the Capital Region. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academically focused environment within the region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance for trainees and junior faculty.

Education

MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
