Albany Medical College in Albany, NY invites fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for the obstetric population. We offer a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

The role includes clinical care for healthy and high-risk obstetric patients, teaching residents and medical students, and opportunities for clinical research.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required)
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
