Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for the obstetric population at our center. Our academic center serves the Capital Region as the only Level 1 trauma center and SOAP COE designated program.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology is required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative teams to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
