Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Anesthesiology seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care in the Capital Region. This is an academic, collaborative environment at the center's Level 1 trauma center.

The successful candidates will provide safe anesthesia for high-risk and routine obstetric patients, participate in education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration, and may receive a sign-on bonus and

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents and students.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D staff, and perioperative teams to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty for professional and academic growth.
