Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand our care for the obstetric population. This role offers a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

The successful candidate will provide anesthesia for healthy and high-risk obstetric patients, participate in research, and contribute to resident and student education.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
