Job summary

Albany Medical College in New York seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join the obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for the obstetric population. The center is an academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

The role includes care for high-risk and routine obstetric patients, teaching residents and students, and participation in clinical research.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree or equivalent required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure and board-eligibility or board-certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative teams to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
