Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Anesthesiology invites fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our expanding obstetric anesthesia faculty. The position offers an academic environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Responsibilities include clinical care for high-risk obstetric cases, education of residents and students, and active participation in research and collaboration with obstetricians, MFM specialists, and

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree in medicine.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by ABA or recognized equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality obstetric anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is encouraged.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative teams to optimize outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance for trainees and junior faculty.
