Job summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Academic Neuropathologist for a tenure-track/tenured, open-rank position, with 0.5–1.0 FTE. The role includes diagnostic surgical neuropathology, autopsy neuropathology and ophthalmologic pathology.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching residents, fellows, medical students and graduate students and may be eligible to join the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Qualifications

• MD degree required and eligible for NC medical license.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology.
• Experience in diagnostic surgical neuropathology and autopsy pathology.
• Eligible for UNC Lineberger membership and teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic surgical neuropathology and autopsy neuropathology.
• Contribute to ophthalmologic pathology and subspecialized services.
• Teach residents, fellows, medical students and graduate students.
• Engage in clinical or translational research activities.

Education

Medical Doctorate (MD)

Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology

Eligible for medical license in North Carolina
