Job summary

Washington State University’s Department of Physics & Astronomy in Pullman, WA invites applications for a Finance/Budget Manager. This on-site role reports to the Director of Administrative Services and leads the department’s fiscal planning and operations with a focus on strategic budgeting and accountability.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage resources, and partner with college leadership to support research, teaching, and student success in a leading public research

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of related experience with supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, database, word processing, e-mail, and calendaring software.
• Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the department's principal fiscal advisor and budget authority.
• Provide budget development and management leadership for the department.
• Conduct fiscal analysis, financial accountability, and resource allocation.
• Supervise support staff and ensure efficient business operations.
• Collaborate with department and college leadership to implement university policies.
