Job summary

The Financial Analyst 2 in the Philosophy department at UC San Diego will oversee the financial administration for department funds including state, contract and grant accounts, and the new Self-Supporting BA/MA Plus One program. Qualifications

Experience in contract and grant proposal formats, preparation, submission and administration.
Knowledge of finance policies, university contracts and grants, and state fund accounting.
Ability to analyze policies and apply them to specific situations.
Experience with budgetary/financial analytic studies and monthly fund balance reports.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail with capacity to multi-task.

Responsibilities

Manage financial administration of department funds, including state, contract and grants.
Prepare financial reports, monthly fund balances, and long-range financial planning.
Oversee contract and grant administration and post-award activities.
Advise faculty and CAO on financial issues and coordinate with campus offices.
Set up budgets for new programs and ensure financial sustainability.
