Jefferson University Physicians in Philadelphia seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist to provide specialized emergency ophthalmic care in Jefferson Health’s Emergency Department. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat urgent vision-threatening conditions, including ocular trauma and infections, collaborating with emergency medicine and subspecialists.

This academically oriented role offers teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students, participation in

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Eligible for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical licensure.
• Strong clinical skills in emergency ophthalmic care and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage urgent and emergent ophthalmic conditions.
• Provide treatment for ocular trauma, acute vision loss, infections, inflammations, and other sight-threatening emergencies.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures consistent with training and clinical privileges.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine providers and ophthalmology subspecialists to coordinate care.
• Participate in resident, fellow, and medical student education and mentorship.
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Engage in research, teaching, and other academic activities aligned with departmental goals.
