Danville Area Community College seeks a Dean of Liberal Arts, Business and Social Sciences to provide academic leadership for the division, oversee curriculum development, budgeting, and program assessment, and ensure accreditation standards are maintained.

The successful candidate will manage course scheduling, supervise faculty and staff, coordinate with four-year partners, and drive student success through strategic planning and collaboration with college leadership.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time teaching in higher education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with the utilization of Instructional Technology.
• Extensive background in higher education and knowledge of community and/or technical college environments.

Responsabilités

• Administrative Leadership: Directs staff in establishing divisional goals and objectives while managing policies and plans.
• Program Management: Oversees scheduling, programmatic innovation, development, and faculty supervision to meet SLOs.
• Financial Oversight: Maintains a sound budget and approves purchases and travel expenses.
• Faculty & Staff Development: Recommends retention, promotion, or release of faculty and staff; supports professional development.
• Academic Governance: Approves degree audits, transfer credits, and course waivers; evaluates faculty annually.
• Industry & Community Engagement: Builds relationships with business leaders and advisory boards.
• Compliance & Safety: Leads accreditation initiatives and ensures safety standards are followed.
• Collaboration: Supports cooperation between credit programs and Workforce Development or non-credit offerings.
