The University of Washington seeks an Academic Counselor for Yakima County to support Educational Talent Search across Toppenish, Wapato and Mount Adams districts. This student-facing role focuses on advising, recruitment, data entry, and program communications with hybrid options during breaks and summer.

The position emphasizes FAFSA/completion tracking, collaboration with school staff, and building partnerships to promote postsecondary education for low-income, first-generation students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years experience with middle/high school programs.
• Experience maintaining student records and understanding admissions/financial aid.
• Strong public speaking, writing, and cross-cultural communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Advise students at target schools on course selection and college readiness.
• Monitor FAFSA and college enrollment requirements for APR reporting.
• Prepare, edit, and maintain online/print program materials; liaise with staff.
• Represent ETS in meetings and at events with teachers, counselors, and families.
• Assist recruitment of eligible ETS students (primarily first-generation, low income).
• Maintain ETS database and update participant records for APR.
• Develop flyers and other communications for program events.
