Job summary

Pikes Peak State College is seeking an ASPIRE Scholars Academic Coordinator to provide comprehensive academic coordination, coaching, and support for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The role collaborates with the ASPIRE Program Director and campus partners to promote retention, achievement, and inclusive learning. This is a Perkins Grant funded position with potential for multi-year renewal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or completed Associate’s degree with two years of related professional experience.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in education or community settings.
• Experience providing academic support, coaching, or case management.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic coordination and support for ASPIRE Scholars throughout the academic year.
• Lead and oversee peer mentor training and ongoing guidance for high-quality support.
• Monitor student progress, implement interventions, and coordinate campus supports to improve retention.
• Maintain accurate student files, accommodation records, and progress documentation per policy.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to design individualized academic plans and holistic support.
• Conduct regular success meetings and track academic, social, and independent living development.
• Support curriculum development and accessibility improvements for ASPIRE programming.
• Participate in recruitment, admissions, interviews, and onboarding for new scholars.
• Contribute to program assessment, data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement.
