Job summary

Tuba City Unified School District in Tuba City, AZ seeks an Academic Coach - Math to support teachers and raise student achievement. The role focuses on data-driven instruction, differentiated teaching, and classroom demonstrations by the coach.

Starting immediately, this 9-month full-time position reports to the Principal and requires AZ certification. Collaborative work with staff and ongoing professional development are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• AZ certification for teaching in AZ.
• Knowledge and awareness of Native American culture.
• Training in differentiated instruction and data driven instruction.

Responsibilities

• Design training materials and provide professional development training to address and/or identify teacher instructional needs.
• Work directly with teachers in providing classroom based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development.
• To work with teachers to enhance the teacher’s ability to provide instruction that builds the students’ sense of engagement in ownership of learning.
• To collect and analyze data, interpret and use it to guide instructional decisions.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
