Job summary

Albany Med Health System in New York seeks an Internal Medicine-trained allergist-immunologist for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Allergy/Immunology, with interest in clinical care, teaching, research and scholarly activity.

The role covers adult and pediatric allergy/immunology, inpatient consultation at Albany Medical Center, and education of students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Allergy & Immunology fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Allergy & Immunology
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State
• DEA certification

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Allergy & Immunology consultation services for adult and pediatric hospitalized patients.
• Evaluate and manage allergic and immunologic disorders across the spectrum (asthma, rhinitis, food allergy, etc.).
• Perform and supervise allergy testing, oral challenges, immunotherapy, desensitization.
• Collaborate with other departments and specialties as appropriate.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, publications, and presentations.
