Albany Medical Center is seeking an Internal Medicine-trained allergist-immunologist for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Allergy/Immunology and committed to clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.

The role covers adult and pediatric allergy/immunology, inpatient consultation, and education of students, residents, and fellows. Research opportunities are encouraged within a collaborative, academic division.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Allergy & Immunology fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Allergy & Immunology.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State.
• DEA certification.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Allergy & Immunology consultation services for hospitalized adult and pediatric patients.
• Evaluate and manage the spectrum of allergic and immunologic disorders (asthma, rhinitis, food/drug allergy, dermatitis, anaphylaxis, immunodeficiencies).
• Perform and supervise allergy testing, oral challenges, immunotherapy, and drug desensitization.
• Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Hematology/Oncology, Otolaryngology, Emergency Medicine, Pharmacy and others.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and Allergy & Immunology fellows.
• Develop educational lectures, conferences, and grand rounds; participate in scholarly activities and curriculum development.
