Job summary

SEU seeks an Academic Advisor to guide students on academic progress, course selection, and institutional policies. Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, the role includes advising sessions, audits, and facilitating communication among students, faculty, and staff within the Jenzabar system.

The position emphasizes organization, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to the values of a Christian university, with Monday–Friday hours and on-site engagement in Lakeland, FL.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Preferred: degree in education, business or related field.
• Experience in customer service or student-facing roles preferred.
• Strong communication, confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group academic advising on course selection and degree planning.
• Conduct audits for new students and graduation progress with faculty and staff.
• Guide students on policies, waivers, substitutions, and religious course requirements.
• Maintain advising records, generate progress reports, and refer to campus resources.
• Collaborate with Career Services and other departments to support internships.
