Job summary

Roosevelt University is seeking an Academic Advisor to assist students in the Biological, Physical and Health Sciences departments on the Chicago campus. This full-time, exempt role will provide curricular information, support program planning, and coordinate with faculty and staff to aid recruitment and retention.

Some evening and weekend hours are required; the position reports to the Director of Academic Advising.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a college environment focusing on student development or academic advising.
• Proficiency with computerized student information systems and MS Office.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate curricular information to students and prospective students in individual and group settings.
• Assist in short-term and long-term academic program planning and advising.
• Develop advising training materials and prepare reports on advisees.
