Performs professional duties in one or more student services program areas at an institution of higher education.
65% - Advising: Plans, implements and evaluates activities related to the advising, counseling and registration of student in Psychology in a variety of areas, including admissions procedures, registration and course selection, academic progress, policy interpretation, career overviews, transfer credit, course substitutions, change of major and personal development.
15% - Recruiting/New Student orientation Recruits prospective students to the Department of Psychology by providing accurate information concerning the admissions process, degree requirements, career outlook and facts about the Department of Psychology. Offer admitted and prospective student meetings as requested and participate in Admissions events as requested. Coordinates and participates in orientation sessions.
10% - Liaison and outreach: Plans, implements and evaluates activities designed to retain students within Psychology. Success matters, early alert, Bridge to Clemson, and change of major. Aid in getting students back on track, if needed, and provide other university resources to aid in student support and success. Participate in the communication, PR, and student support as it pertains to curriculum, course suggestions, course availability, course restrictions and Creative Inquiry opportunities.
10% - Departmental support and Administrative tasks: Assign advisors for all students, complete/process relevant advising forms, and remain familiar with departmental curriculum requirements.

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
