Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily operations of the Abdominal Transplant department.
• Implement mission, vision, philosophy, and standards of the organization.
• Conduct monthly unit conferences and complete annual performance appraisals.
• Promote unit-based shared governance and nursing specialty certification.
• Identify and implement activities ensuring patient care meets professional standards.
• Monitor departmental performance in evidence-based practices and patient safety goals.
• Review bi-weekly Press Ganey reports and develop plans to address improvement needs.
• Demonstrate fiscal stewardship and maintain budget compliance.
• Foster staff development through coaching, mentoring, and education.
• Encourage staff participation in research committees and clinical practice councils.
