Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP developer to deliver and implement moderately to highly complex technical solutions. You will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support for the application development team under minimal supervision.

The role requires translating business requirements into technical solutions, designing solutions aligned with standards, and performing root cause analysis with long-term fixes. Hybrid/remote work with onsite presence is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.
Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
5-7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain complex concepts clearly.
Design and develop technical solutions that align with standards and business needs.
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes; document solutions for knowledge base.
Evaluate current system capabilities and assess business impact of changes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on technical solutions before implementation.
Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and updated as changes occur.
Test changes and support testing activities across functional areas.
Monitor and optimize ABAP programs using standard tools.
Design overall system architecture and prototype major components.
Follow defined methods, standards, and policies for development and operations.
