Job summary

Uxbridge Public Schools is seeking an ABA Technician PK-3 to support students at Taft Elementary from preschool through third grade. Qualifications

Job Description
  • Full-time position with benefits. Work hours are from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • Provide direct support to students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Assignment ranges from Preschool to 3rd Grade at the Taft Early Learning Center.
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and interventions under the guidance of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and special education teachers.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to support their instructional, social, emotional, and behavioral needs throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess.
  • Collect and record accurate data on student behaviors and progress toward IEP goals.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Employ positive behavior supports, accommodations, and modifications as directed by supervisors.
  • Participate in ongoing training in areas such as behavior management, positive behavioral supports, inclusion instructional support, and social/emotional skill development.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special educators, and BCBAs to ensure consistent implementation of student support plans.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and activities for student instruction and engagement.
  • Support students' development of social skills, communication abilities, and adaptive behaviors.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to school policies and procedures.
Additional Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Applied Behavior Analysis principles and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting diverse learners.
  • Physical ability to assist students as needed, which may involve lifting (specific weight limit could be added if necessary).
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing student needs and classroom dynamics.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Proficiency in data collection and basic computer skills for record-keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Experience in employing positive behavior supports, accommodations, and modifications is desirable.
  • Valid's driver's license.
Physical Requirements (Must be able to)
  • Assist students as needed, which may involve lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day.
  • Bend, twist, reach, and occasionally sit on the floor during instruction.
  • Respond quickly to students' needs and emergency situations.
  • Use technology tools required for instruction and classroom management

Salary: $26,209 to $45,899 Per Year
