Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified ABA Teacher for middle school students with autism in our Applied Behavioral Learning (ABL) Program. This role provides direct instruction in academics, daily living skills, and social/vocational training, and supports ABA program development under IDEA/IEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required for MA licensure eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years working in an ABA setting.
• Minimum 1 year supervising classroom staff.
• RBT Training and CPI Training preferred.
• Experience implementing ABA strategies (DTI, PVT, PECS) and data collection.
• Commitment to academic success and working with diverse urban student populations.
• Bilingual applicants (Spanish) strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate use of research-based instruction principles (DTI, PVT, generalization).
• Design and implement programs targeting academic, social, daily living, and vocational skills.
• Assess students referred for special education and determine eligible services.
• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Develop individualized education plans to meet learning needs.
• Maintain and update special education records and ensure confidentiality.
• Provide behavior management programs and ABA programming under supervision.
• Collaborate with autism specialists and district staff to follow established protocols.
• Coordinate services with related service providers (OT, PT, Speech).
• Train and supervise ABL Paraprofessionals and support staff.
