Job summary

Motivated Learners is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students with autism in an ABA-based therapeutic day school. You will lead instruction, implement personalized plans, and collaborate with BCBAs and RBTs to meet IEP goals throughout the school day.

The role offers Monday–Friday hours (8:30 AM–3:30 PM) in Illinois with a focus on building academic, communication, social, and independent living skills in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Illinois teaching or substitute license required.
• Experience working with children or adolescents.
• Ability to provide structure, flexibility, patience, and consistency.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with special education, autism, or ABA is a plus, but not required.
• Passion for helping students learn, grow, and become more independent.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction and daily routines during the teacher's absence.
• Implement lesson plans and individualized educational programming.
• Adapt instruction to meet each student's needs.
• Collaborate with BCBAs and RBTs to support goals.
• Support implementation of IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Maintain a structured, positive, engaging classroom environment.
• Communicate with school leadership and the educational team.
• Provide consistency and stability throughout the long-term assignment.
