Job summary

Easterseals Southern California, Inc. is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide clinic and home-based therapy for individuals with severe behaviors, including autism. Sessions run 3–4 hours, typically 2:1 staffing, across center, home, or community settings.

The role emphasizes data collection, treatment plan implementation, caregiver coaching, and collaboration with BCBAs. Onboarding includes Crisis Management Training, ongoing growth, and daily progress reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Crisis Management Training is required (MCPP) Intermediate and Advanced.
• Training will be provided during onboarding activities after employment begins.
• Continued employment contingent upon successfully passing Crisis Management Training at both levels.

Responsibilities

• Supports and works with participants diagnosed with autism and severely challenging behavior of all ages.
• Challenging behavior may include aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behavior, feeding issues.
• Services may be at the participant's home, community, and/or center with 2:1 staffing.
• Collects data about participant behavior through direct observation.
• Appointments may be divided into several treatment intervals with targeted interventions.
• Assists BCBAs with behavior assessments and skill acquisition plans.
• Teaches participants the socially appropriate behavior identified in treatment plans.
• Communicates intervention results to participants' caregivers and teams daily.
• Provides treatment sessions ranging from 3 to 4 hours, Monday through Friday.
• Attends weekly team meetings and contributes data-driven input.
