Job summary

Finni Health of Central Michigan is seeking a Behavior Technician to support a child in in-home or clinic sessions in the Mount Pleasant, MI area. This part-time role offers $17–$22 per hour and a schedule Mon-Fri 10am-3pm or 9am-2pm, with mentorship from a BCBA.

You’ll engage one-on-one with children, use play to teach life skills, and help families implement progress tracking. A 40-hour RBT training is preferred and you’ll be supported to sit for the RBT exam.

Qualifications

• 40-hour RBT training (preferred)
• Able to sit for RBT exam with mentorship
• At least 1 year of experience with children, especially with special needs
• Reliable, has own transportation, and comfortable being active (on floor)

Responsibilities

• Be a Play Partner using toys/games to help communication and social skills
• Help child learn daily routines to build independence
• Track progress and celebrate milestones with the team
• Work one-on-one with a child in home or clinic setting with a BCBA mentor

The Heart of the Role

We are looking for someone who doesn’t mind getting down on the floor to play, getting messy with arts and crafts, and celebrating "small wins" like they’re Olympic gold medals. You’ll work one-on-one with a child in the comfort of their own home, helping them learn life skills through the power of play.

What Your Day Might Look Like

• Being a Play Partner: Using a child’s favorite toys or games to help them learn to communicate and socialise.
• Building Independence: Helping a child master daily routines that make a big difference for their family.
• Cheering Progress: Keeping track of how they’re doing so we can celebrate every milestone together.
• Learning Together: You’ll have a supportive mentor (our BCBA) right by your side to guide you.

Who You Are

You are a compassionate person with a big heart and the right foundation to hit the ground running.

• The Training: You have already completed your 40-hour RBT training course. (preferred)
• The Next Step: You are ready (and excited!) to sit for your RBT Exam—we’ll provide the support and mentorship to help you cross the finish line.
• The Experience: You have a high school diploma and at least a year of experience working with children (especially those with special needs).
• The Spirit: You’re reliable, have your own transportation, and are comfortable being active (sitting, kneeling, and playing on the floor).
