Job summary

Accelera in Whitakers, NC seeks an experienced PLC Engineer to develop and support Allen-Bradley solutions for production lines. You will design ladder logic, structured text, and HMI interfaces, ensuring robust communication across EtherNet/IP networks.

The role requires deployment of PowerFlex drives and GuardLogix safety systems, with on-site testing and cycle-time optimization to support a smooth ramp-up.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of practical experience programming Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley systems, specifically ControlLogix and CompactLogix.
• Advanced knowledge of FactoryTalk View, RSLogix 5000, and Studio 5000.
• Experience with EtherNet/IP and PowerFlex drives.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs for troubleshooting.
• On-site work experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Must provide PPE and laptop for programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and deploy Allen-Bradley PLC solutions for operational manufacturing lines.
• Create and refine ladder logic, structured text, and functional routines using Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
• Design and maintain HMI interfaces within FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine and Site Editions.
• Ensure reliable communication across fieldbus networks by configuring EtherNet/IP and remote I/O systems.
• Verify sensors, drives like PowerFlex VFDs and servos, and GuardLogix safety systems for peak performance.
• Assist with on-site I/O testing, dry runs, and cycle-time optimization for ramp-up.
• Collaborate with maintenance and mechanical staff to identify and rectify sequence-of-operation problems.
