Job summary

Gordian Biotechnology is seeking a Vector Engineering research associate to produce AAV vectors for all in vivo screens. You will execute adherent and suspension HEK293 transfections and purification techniques, documenting work meticulously and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Within months, you will run core production tasks, learn AAV biology and serotypes used by Gordian, forecast media, and manage reagent ordering with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Background in biology and hands-on serological pipetting experience.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects across teams.
• Organized and detail-oriented with thorough lab notebook discipline.

Responsibilities

• Produce AAV vectors for Gordian's in vivo screens.
• Perform adherent and suspension HEK293 transfections and associated tasks.
• Contribute to scalable AAV purification (iodixanol ultracentrifugation, depth filtration, TFF, FPLC).
• Shadow, then independently run core production tasks (cell splits, transfections, harvests).
• Forecast media, order reagents, reference historical data for project needs.
• Own two Vector areas: TC hood organization and shaking-incubator maintenance.
