About the Role

Culmen International is looking for an AAT Senior Research Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.

The AAT Senior Research Technician provides comprehensive support for high-containment animal studies, including sample collection, clinical observations, and laboratory analysis.

What You’ll Do in Your New Role
  • Collect and process clinical samples from laboratory animals.
  • Perform clinical pathology testing and animal health observations.
  • Maintain laboratory logs and support necropsy operations.
  • Ensure adherence to biosafety and animal welfare protocols.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on lab procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, lab tech, or related field.
  • 5+ years in BSL-3/4 animal research or biomedical laboratory settings.
  • Expertise in animal procedures and clinical pathology.
  • Familiar with telemetry systems and physiologic data capture.
  • Knowledge of BSL-3/4 containment practices.
  • Skilled in aseptic techniques and lab instrumentation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
  • LATG certification or veterinary technician license preferred.
