Culmen International is seeking an AAT Senior Research Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.

The AAT Senior Research Technician provides support for high-containment animal studies, including sample collection, clinical observations, and laboratory analysis.

What You’ll Do In Your New Role

1. Collect and process clinical samples from laboratory animals.
2. Perform clinical pathology testing and animal health observations.
3. Maintain laboratory logs and support necropsy operations.
4. Ensure adherence to biosafety and animal welfare protocols.
5. Train and mentor junior staff on lab procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science, lab tech, or related field.
• 5+ years in BSL-3/4 animal research or biomedical laboratory settings.
• Expertise in animal procedures and clinical pathology.
• Familiarity with telemetry systems and physiologic data capture.
• Knowledge of BSL-3/4 containment practices.
• Skilled in aseptic techniques and lab instrumentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Desired Qualifications

• LATG certification or veterinary technician license preferred.
