Job summary

West Warwick Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support AAC technology and communication for students with significant communication needs at Wakefield Hills Elementary School in West Warwick, RI.

Qualifications

• Requires collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
• Experience supporting AAC devices and visual supports preferred.
• Willingness to assist with transportation and classroom duties.

Responsibilities

• Support AAC programming and update devices per IEP goals.
• Prepare and maintain low- and mid-tech AAC supports and materials.
• Assist in data collection and documentation of AAC use and progress.
• Provide support to classroom staff for AAC implementation throughout the day.
• Attend IEP or staff meetings as requested by administrators.
