Job summary

Linn Benton Lincoln ESD is seeking an Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist to join our Cascade Regional Inclusive Services. This 1.0 FTE position on a 190-day calendar supports students with complex communication needs across Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and an Oregon license or equivalent; ASHA CCC or pursuit is preferred. A $5,000.00 sign-on stipend is available for hired applicants.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Oregon license issued by the Oregon Board of Examiners or TSPC license with endorsements and ASHA CCC or pursuing this certificate.
• Experience in special education with high needs populations preferred.
• Alternatives to above qualifications may apply as deemed by the Superintendent/Board.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate children to determine functional communication skills and appropriate strategies.
• Prepare written evaluation reports for school use and funding.
• Provide consultation and follow-up to students, staff and families.
• Provide in-service training on supporting students with complex communication needs.
• Collaborate with SLPs, teachers and staff to support implementation of communication systems.
