Job summary

South Coast ESD is seeking a School-Based AAC Specialist to provide specialized support for students with complex communication needs. This licensed position focuses on evaluation and implementation of communication systems, collaborating within a transdisciplinary team to create inclusive school environments.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, at least 2 years of AAC experience, and strong skills in communication and problem-solving. A valid Oregon license and First Aid/CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in AAC/AT evaluations.
• Ability to write concise, legally defensible evaluation reports.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR card and Oregon Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent AAC evaluations utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Guide IEP teams in developing measurable communication goals.
• Program and customize high-tech speech-generating devices.
