Job summary

AAA Mountain West Group in Hayward, CA is seeking a Tow Service Technician who will operate tow trucks safely, perform basic diagnostics, and provide roadside assistance to members.

Starting pay is $27.50 per hour with shift differentials and monthly bonuses; benefits include 401(k) with company match, medical, dental and vision coverage, paid holidays and PTO, tuition reimbursement, and a free AAA Classic Membership.

Responsibilities

• Operating tow trucks safely and efficiently.
• Performing simple vehicle diagnostics to figure out the issue.
• Providing essential roadside assistance, including tire changes, fuel delivery, and vehicle lock-outs.
• Building trust, problem-solving, and being a calming presence for our members on the scene.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Works outdoors at vehicle sites when servicing vehicles.
• Lifting and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds, several times a day; bending, kneeling and stooping as required for service calls.
• Works in all weather and all traffic conditions.
• Vehicle recovery sites may be wet, messy and hazardous.
• Service Providers are required to provide a photograph for identification purposes.
