Job summary

Epic Games is seeking an experienced Hard Surface Outsourcing Lead to oversee external vendors delivering hard surface assets for Fortnite. You will work with HS Cosmetics Lead and HS Art Leads, provide clear creative feedback, and help vendors understand Epic’s pipelines to ensure timely, high-quality assets.

This supervisory role also allows hands-on art production when needed, with a strong background in 3D modelling, UVs, texturing, and a track record in AAA title pipelines across multiple

Qualifications

• Experience shipping AAA titles across multiple platforms.
• Proven ability to manage external vendors and pipelines.
• Strong hands-on 3D modelling background for hard/soft surfaces.
• Excellent communication with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Define clear creative direction for assets and package instructions to vendors.
• Collect references, document asset production procedures, and ensure pipeline requirements.
• Provide feedback to vendors and ensure assets meet quality and timing goals.
• Coordinate with HS implementation to ingest assets into the engine.
• Contribute hands-on asset work when needed to maintain pipeline flow.
• Support bug triage and resolution for outsourced assets.
