Job summary

Epic Games is seeking an experienced Hard Surface Outsourcing Lead to supervise external vendors delivering high‑quality hard surface assets for Fortnite, collaborating with HS Cosmetics Lead and internal teams. Candidates should have AAA title shipping experience, strong hands‑on 3D modeling, and the ability to communicate feedback clearly across partners.

The role combines leadership with hands‑on art production when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping AAA titles across multiple platforms.
• Experience shipping 3D production assets for games (character, weapon, or prop).
• Proficient in Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, Substance, etc.
• Experience with UVs and texturing.
• Highly organized, self-driven, customer-focused, and a great team player.
• Able to deliver clear, concise creative feedback to external vendors.
• Experience in high-pressure production environments.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus (Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, or Russian).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HS Cosmetics Lead and HS Art Leads to define clear creative direction for assets.
• Package and convey information to vendors; assist with hiring and onboarding when needed.
• Provide feedback and ensure assets meet engine requirements and pipelines.
• Hand-off assets to ensure technical readiness within the Epic pipeline.
• Participate in hands-on art production when required to support the project.
• Provide bug support, triage, and issue resolution for outsourced assets.
