Job summary

Airbus Americas is seeking an Airframe Design Liaison Engineer in Mobile, AL to support the FAL, flight line, and delivery center with structural design solutions for primary and secondary structures. You will act as a critical interface between local manufacturing operations and global Airbus Design Offices and Chief Engineering networks to keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in aircraft structure design engineering support.
• Expertise in primary and secondary airframe structures design and repair principles.
• Deep knowledge of Airbus design principles, procedures, and tools.
• Experience navigating SRMs, AMMs and IPCs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Non-conformity repair resolution: authorise repair drawings and design datasets.
• Airworthiness accountability: ensure compliance with safety and design principles.
• Create and approve temporary aircraft definitions for testing purposes.
• Release standard structural repair instructions and coordinate major reworks.
• Serve as FAL liaison between Chief Engineering and local manufacturing.
• Review complex design data and prepare materials for technical briefings.
• Validate design solutions and maintain SLA timeframes.
• Align local solutions with global engineering methods and standards.
• Collaborate internationally to resolve cross-border structural issues.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge across the design perimeter.
• Present repair configurations to customers, suppliers, and flight test teams.
