Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking an A220 Mechanical Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) in Mobile, AL.

The role focuses on conducting technical inspections, root cause analyses, and ensuring corrective actions through cross-functional teams to maintain aircraft quality. Responsibilities include performing visual and final inspections, documenting results in SAP-based systems, and supporting process improvements while coaching Operations and Support Functions on quality observations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years in an aviation company with emphasis on mechanical/structural components and assemblies.
• Preferred experience in a Quality Inspector position.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft.
• Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications.
• Document the technical inspections performed in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP production orders and related IT systems.
• Support troubleshooting and participate in Quality Survey requests.
• Compile all technical data of non-conformance to launch NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets.
• Document results of the inspector in FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP systems.
• Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders (MRB).
• Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence.
• Track and maintain components during Non Conformance process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
• Handling and use of inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, electrical)
