Job summary

Calumet, LLC is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage collections, apply payments, and invoice for shipped orders. You will partner with Sales, Customer Service and other units and report to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

The role requires 3+ years AR experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong MS Excel/Outlook skills. Preferred are a Bachelor's in Business/Accounting and familiarity with JD Edwards or SAP, plus experience with large national retailers.

Responsibilities

• Collection of customer AR balances with focus on large accounts.
• Reconcile account discrepancies and deductions through research with customers and internal teams.
• Credit approval of new orders.
• Apply cash receipts, credit documents, and unapplied cash.
• Process ACH auto-debit transactions and daily billing.
• Process new customer credit applications and reactivations.
• Monthly reporting on assigned customer records.
• Identify credit risk from pay habits and market data and inform Director.
• Process audit requests and refund credit balances.
• Coordinate with Master Data for new customer setup and data maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain team email accounts.
• Support other projects and assignments as needed.

Job description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for many facets of the Account Receivable function including collection of accounts receivable balances, application of customer payments and invoicing shipped orders. This position requires interaction with other corporate business units and will report to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collection of customer accounts receivable balances with focus on large balance, key accounts
• Reconcile account discrepancies and deductions through research and communication with customers, Sales, Customer Service & other functional areas
• Credit approval of new orders
• Application of cash receipts, credit documents and unapplied cash
• Process ACH Auto-Debit transactions
• Process daily billing of shipped orders
• Process new customer credit applications and customer reactivations.
• Monthly reporting on assigned customer records
• Identify credit risk through customer pay habits, market data & industry trade reports and inform Director
• Process audit requests
• Initiate refund of credit balances
• Interphase between Credit Team and Master Data Team to effect set-up of new customers & maintain customer master data records as required
• Monitor and maintain team email accounts
• Other projects and assignments as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years Accounts Receivable experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting
• Prior experience with JD Edwards or SAP
• Experience working with larger national retail customers
