Job summary

Lions Clubs International in Oak Brook, IL is seeking an Accounts Receivable Representative to join the Finance Division. You will receive, prepare, and post AR and GL deposits in multiple currencies, respond to inquiries, and assist with month-end close.

The role requires 2 years in AR, proficiency in MS Word/Excel, and familiarity with SAP/PeopleSoft/Oracle. Hybrid work, three days in office, and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Some college and accounting/bookkeeping courses preferred.
• 2 years experience in Accounts Receivable or related accounting field required.
• Familiarity with PCI Compliance regulations.
• 1 year experience in customer service required.
• Ability to establish and maintain good member service relations, demonstrated through strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven and high‑volume environment.
• Excellent math, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Organized, accurate and very detailed oriented.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with AR/Accounting software (SAP, PeopleSoft or Oracle), a strong plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including business writing.
• Self‑starter ability – works well both independently and as a team player.
• Lock box, multiple currency and cash application experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Enter deposits for assigned bank accounts in respective currency.
• Identify/code deposits by bank account/country, with the appropriate AR or GL Account.
• Verify/balance batches, as well as assist with daily and month‑end close.
• Research, prepare and post payments and adjustments including refund requests.
• Work with staff to resolve payment issues, including bank reconciliation concerns.
• Research and respond to inquiries and correspondence pertaining to deposits and related matters, including statements, MTD Activity Reports, and History Ledgers in a timely manner.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to email inquiries timely.
• Forward other telephone inquiries to appropriate individuals/departments.
• Assist customers with payment instructions, including making online payments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here’s how you can help -- we are currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Representative to join our A/R team, rise to the challenge of empowering service, and fill a vital role in our Finance Division. As a A/R Representative, you’ll receive, prepare, and post AR and GL Deposits in currency of deposit, responding to all inquiries promptly. You’ll also research, prepare and enter related adjustments, follow‑up on unidentified deposits, prepare for daily and month end closing and balancing of all corrections.

What You’ll Do:

• Enter deposits for assigned bank accounts in respective currency. Deposits are received from over 60 bank accounts in over 30 currencies via various electronic methods, bank statements, as well as intercompany and mail.
• Identify/code deposits by bank account/country, with the appropriate AR or GL Account.
• Verify/balance batches, as well as assist with daily and month‑end close.
• Research, prepare, post payments and adjustments including refund requests.
• Work with staff to resolve payment issues, including bank reconciliation concerns. Maintain and follow up on unidentified payments. Scan documents.
• Research and respond to inquiries and correspondence pertaining to deposits and related matters, including statements, MTD Activity Reports, and History Ledgers in a timely manner.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to email inquiries timely.
• Forward other telephone inquiries to appropriate individuals/departments.
• Assist customers with payment instructions, including making online payments.
• Other duties as assigned.

We’re Looking for Someone With:

Compensation: Non‑exempt: $23-25 hourly.
