Job summary

Embraer in Melbourne, FL is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic with an A&P license and 2+ years of small aircraft/general aviation maintenance. You will inspect, repair, test, and certify aircraft components per FAA and OEM specifications, participating in depot-level maintenance and documentation.

The role requires hands-on skills with hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging, and safety compliance, with a focus on quality and accuracy in work packages.

Qualifications

• A&P license required; structures experience a plus.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with small aircraft/general aviation trained in one aircraft type.
• Proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine inspections or maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete ops checks on hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and rigging systems.
• Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
• Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies; makes alterations or changes to units when necessary.
• Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting FAA approved data, OEM data, and work package instructions.
• Consults the Maintenance Lead for technical assistance during repairs.
• Inspects completed work before signing off and ensures parts/components meet standards and tolerances.
• Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using manufacturer-specified test equipment.
• Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing operations.
• Submits completed work to Maintenance Lead for review and to Quality Assurance for inspection and re-certification.
