Job summary

Islander Aviation LLC in Florida seeks an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician with both Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and Inspection Authorization (IA). You will perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring FAA compliance and company procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an A&P, IA certification, and proficiency with both piston and turbine aircraft.

Qualifications

• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
• Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an A&P mechanic.
• Experience with both piston and turbine aircraft preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual inspections, progressive inspections, and major repairs on aircraft.
• Approve aircraft for return to service following major repairs or alterations.
• Conduct detailed airworthiness inspections and sign off on aircraft maintenance.
• Inspect aircraft components, systems, and structures for wear, damage, or defects.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using technical documentation.
• Complete and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Interpret and apply technical manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
• Supervise and mentor junior A&P mechanics.
• Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
