Job summary

Islander Aviation LLC in Florida seeks an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician with both Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and Inspection Authorization (IA). You will perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring FAA compliance and company procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an A&P, IA certification, and proficiency with both piston and turbine aircraft.

Qualifications

Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
Minimum 5 years of experience as an A&P mechanic.
Experience with both piston and turbine aircraft preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform annual inspections, progressive inspections, and major repairs on aircraft.
Approve aircraft for return to service following major repairs or alterations.
Conduct detailed airworthiness inspections and sign off on aircraft maintenance.
Inspect aircraft components, systems, and structures for wear, damage, or defects.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using technical documentation.
Complete and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Interpret and apply technical manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
Supervise and mentor junior A&P mechanics.
Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
