Rio Staffing is seeking a Flight Training Piston Fleet Op – A&P Technician at a Georgetown, TX flight academy. Drive airworthiness of a high-utilization piston fleet, perform proactive maintenance and rapid repairs.

This full-time role requires FAA A&P, 3+ years piston experience, and ability to work 10-hour day/night shifts. Excellent logs, FAA compliance, and teamwork with flight ops are essential. Competitive benefits and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with piston-powered GA aircraft.
• Deep functional knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.
• Capability to work independently and make definitive airworthiness determinations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to digital maintenance tracking platforms.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work around fuels, noise, and outdoor exposure.
• Willingness to work flexible 10-hour shifts, including nights.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle maintenance and inspections on piston-powered trainer aircraft from initial intake to final sign-off.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical discrepancies in accordance with FAA mandates and manufacturer data.
• Interpret technical manuals, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives to meet certified standards.
• Generate meticulous, audit-ready logbook entries and maintenance records for every service action.
• Maintain a pristine, safety-oriented hangar environment reflecting professional shop standards.
• Synchronize with flight operations and fellow technicians to protect the daily training schedule.
• Adapt maintenance priorities to fleet availability and training demands.
• Support 24/7 flight operations by fulfilling day or night shift assignments as required.
