The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in New Jersey is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join as instructors. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to aspiring aircraft maintenance technicians in classroom and hangar settings.

No prior teaching experience required; AIM offers a 5-day paid instructor training program and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands-on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options
  • Option 2: Evening shift: Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm EST & Friday ~ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EST
Key Responsibilities
