Job summary

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance seeks experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to become instructors at our Charlotte campus. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned instruction and mentor students in a hands-on hangar and classroom setting.

No prior teaching experience is required; a 5-day paid instructor training program helps you transition. This full-time role includes a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques hands-on.
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and student progress records.
  • Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.

About the Role

Asan AircraftMaintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliverFAA Part 147-alignedaviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to studentspreparing forcareers asaircraftmaintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics,aircraftmechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technicalexpertisewith mentorship and training while delivering hands‑on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options
  • Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
  • Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm
  • Option 3: Thursday - Friday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday - Sunday: 9:00am - 6:00pm (Option 3 includes +$5.00/hr shift differential)
Key Responsibilities
