Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join our team as instructors at our Charlotte campus. The role focuses on delivering FAA Part 147-aligned curricula and hands-on instruction to prepare students for FAA certification.

We welcome A&P mechanics or aviation maintenance professionals who want to mentor, train, and inspire the next generation of aviation technicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
  • Help create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
  • Maintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands‑on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands‑on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options
  • Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
  • Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands‑on environment
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification

Qualifications
Education

Licensure
