Job summary

MISTRAS is seeking a Project Manager to lead Aerospace & Defense field work across multiple sites in the United States. You will oversee on‑site inspections, NDT/NDI, and related asset integrity services, coordinating field teams to deliver safe, on‑time projects within budget and to stringent quality standards.

The role requires strong field presence, deep NDT knowledge, and ability to build trusted customer relationships while driving safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High level knowledge of nondestructive testing (NDT) methods and aerospace quality systems.
• 5+ years in Project Management or supervisory roles, with field inspection/NDT experience preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in regulated aerospace/defense environments and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and PM tools; data/ KPI reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of all field activities for Aerospace & Defense projects, including NDT/NDI.
• Manage scope, schedule, resources, budget, and deliverables from planning through closeout; implement planning, cost control, and tracking systems.
• Direct on-site teams to ensure productivity, quality, and compliance with requirements.
• Build and sustain customer relationships; deliver status updates and KPI reports to clients and leadership.
• Ensure adherence to HSE, radiation safety, quality, and regulatory standards (Nadcap, AS9100, ITAR).
• Lead risk management, resolve field issues, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
• Support proposal development, scope definition, and budget estimation for field work.
• Prepare accurate daily/weekly status reports and staffing plans for customers and leadership.
• Promote accessible leadership and adherence to company policies.
