Job summary

NorthKey Community Care in Covington, KY is hiring on-site National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Crisis Intervention Specialists to support the 988 program. This role offers 1st and 2nd shifts with weekend/holiday rotation, on-site at 502 Farrell Drive.

The position requires crisis experience and a bachelor’s in human/social services; Peer Support Certification is encouraged. Duties include crisis screening, safety planning, and resource connection.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year working with individuals in crisis or crisis intervention.
• Bachelor's degree in human/social services preferred.
• Peer Support Certification applicants encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Screen for suicidal intent and assess immediate safety.
• Use nonjudgmental, compassionate communication to de-escalate crises.
• Work under pressure with individuals in immediate crisis.
• Document interactions and assess needs; implement safety plans.
• Connect callers to community resources (utilities, housing, food pantries).
• Provide follow-up support to high-risk callers.
• Coordinate with team to ensure quality care.
